Chase Rice Delivers!
After trying to catch Chase when he performed earlier in the year and missing the show, I thought “well there’s always next year”. I was very pleased to hear he was coming back to Hampton this month and got tickets as fast as I could. Having up and comer Willie Jones open for him was a great touch and it gave fans a chance to hear his style of mixing country with hip hop which was very very well done. I also had the chance to meet Willie and know big things are ahead for him. As for Chase, I’ve listened to his music since he first appeared on scene. His live performance shows his compassion for music and how much he likes to interact with fans (especially a 7 year old little boy on his fathers shoulders) made it that more fun. Opening with Lions was amazing as I first thought he may close with it. I will definitely see Chase again in the future! HDEU
Chase great, Venue horrible
:My ticket said 7:00, when it should have said "Doors open at 7:00". We arrived early because I figured traffic would be bad since it was rush hour. People were waiting outside and it was freezing! The Masonic has a very large lobby, but they wouldn't let anyone wait in there. No way was I standing outside for an hour with my 8 year old granddaughter, who LOVES Chase Rice. I asked to use the restroom and we hid out in there. A female worker came in and rudely told me we could not stay in there, to go back outside. The seats are first come, first serve, which means that if you want a decent seat, you have to come early. They should assign seats, like the Akron Civic and EJ Thomas do. That would eliminate the line issue. Chase Rice was great, with the exception of his first few songs, which did not sound country at all. Won't return to the Masonic for another concert, unless it's in the summer!
